Beryl is a family of crystals that produce emerald and aquamarine when its color is green or blue-green, respectively. Another important source of emerald, usually small in size and of excellent quality, is in Southern Rhodesia before Zimbabwe. These were found only in 1956. Emerald was known in India since ancient times, its origin is unknown. The quality of the emerald in India is very variable, but most are polished as beads. Other sources such as emerald Norway, North Carolina, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire are very important of these. But, if you are taking a vacation in one of those states, we will keep your eyes from getting lost!
