Durability of diamond

Diamond is one of the most difficult substances on the earth. Other gemstones are hard as well, but they are not as difficult as diamonds. Diamonds and other jewels are measured by the scale of Mohs. It runs from 10 (most difficult) to 1 (softest). It is somewhat arbitrary and not linear. The range from 9 to 10 is much larger than 8 to 9. The harder minerals tend to be durable naturally and do not easily scratch. They are a good choice for jewelry for element alteration or any scratch or knockout function. Talc with Mohs hardness 1 is the softest mineral and can be hurt with nails.

Crystals are common gem mineral (citrine and amethyst) and more than 7 range. Ruby and sapphire are as hard as diamonds on a scale of 9 on Moh's scale.
People mistakenly believe that diamonds are immortal, I think this is not true! Elinor in Pliny 's natural history said that these stones are being tested at the anvil ", the iron rebound and the very anvil fall apart" If you tried it, There is a high possibility of crushing diamonds, not anvils!
Except for the diamonds, the corner that emphasizes the princess cut and square cut diamonds also displays the corner diamonds rounded off. Square or rectangular diamond protruding points can be inadvertently struck against the surface and debris or scratches.
Diamonds should be protected, soft, if you do not have a velvet lined up wearing this. We regularly check the settings and have stones examined by experts. Your diamond is investment in money only, yourself or your relationship investment and take a small amount of extra care value to keep it permanently
