So, each fall, I discuss different professions with my students, and some general field experts in the classroom to get kids excited about career I ambition at least one of my students Not amazed when the years go by, this past fall was no exception. One of my sweet students, Annie proudly told me that she wanted to grow into an acrobat.
Acrobats is a profession (if it is also a profession) that I have never heard from my students before. I sat with Annie and loved to hear about why she wanted to be an Acrobat. Her story of ambition contained several elements common to the stories of almost every child I encountered in the past. There were three main reasons that Annie wanted to become an Acrobat when she grew up.
The first reason that Annie wanted to become an acrobat as an adult is that her own mother teaches the class locally and is the leader in training the next generation of gymnasts Annie has many other young children's So, I wanted to be an acrobat because she met someone of her life's importance in the same career. I want all children to emulate the people I love most in life. Annie was no exception.
Annie's second reason that she wanted to be an acrobatic is simply capturing how much children she is affected by watching acrobatics on television shows and movies (which I can not remember). This is either very good or bad, based on the type of media they are looking at. You need to understand the impact of the media on children.
Since she is currently enrolled in gymnastics classes, she enjoys them so much, so there is a third reason Annie wants to be acrobat. It is an easy thing for kids. Whatever they enjoy, is now often the focus of ambition in a good life.
So if your child wants to be an acrobat, be aware of the deep impact of your own life, your child's activities, and the media impact on your child
