I fell in love almost immediately when I first had the opportunity to visit Kauai. I knew immediately that I was trying to live there, at least a year or two weeks. I decided to set up a shop selling bargain holidays to tourists. Since there was already a lot of competition, I knew I had to set up a special niche. Last minute holiday deals from lots of cheap tickets, discount hotel accommodation, car rental and also a lot of major carriers offering savings I have that I have to offer something special I knew something that divided me from all of the other people in business. For a while, I did not know. I was actually trying to give up my dreams when it finally hit me.
Most of the bargain vacations targeted specific sectors of the population. They will sell their trips to older people who have money or to young students who have their parents' money. They were mainly for those who wanted to do everything for regular tourists. They give them a map on the beach, point towards a day cruise, and give some discounts on local restaurants.
However, if I could offer bargain holidays for people who wanted a more intimate experience of the island, I could make a bank. We offer a package tour with a rest. I will do more than this. I hire a tour guide to set up the bed and breakfast and show people around some of the hard to reach parts of the island. I set up my internal camping trip deeply.
The idea worked very well. There are also resort vacation packages that are cheaper than my holidays as well. Many of the people who come on my vacation trip know more about local tradition than some of the locals. And the next year they send me their friends!
Some say Barbie is wise in the name, saying that they recognize some bounces.
