A few years ago, I left full strength after serving 22 years. During my career I became knowledgeable in many of the subjects, including unionionable, printables; Car Engineering, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Summary Management. My career was fantastically well organized, and unfortunately not so good in the throat area. This leads me to questions; can a business really learn from the military?
Since leaving power, I have been involved in some business ventures, generally bad ones that have failed. Right now I'm honestly speaking that hiring these businesses is more uncomplicated and easier. So what do I mean by military type attitudes? I would like to write a cast standard that does not mean something to do for sure.
This is what I mean:
In normal business life, the main motivation is the fear of money and boots. This is probably why so many people today change their work frequently. These should not be the only motivational tools employed by the company. The Army uses the best motivation tools that have "off time". Of course at home most of the time you are counter productive with your workforce.
In the early 90's I managed a small car workshop in Berlin. I had one soldier and a civilian. During a quiet period I ask for a die to be brought out as often as 8am. A dice was thrown by all of us, from the lowest combination score 2 throws meant that the person had a phone call to the man all day, this management tactic as well as others I have Ensuring that they had a happy workforce, production statistics do not lie they showed an increase in overall output. Of course, I used to work motivated, self-confident, lazy soldiers, on these occasions I adopted the sterner approach.
I then see the majority of workers in daily business life; they are generally unmotivated if they are not self-employed. Is this because they are not well managed? In my guess, they would not be managed at all. My cousin works in a very busy establishment, as soon as his boss leaves the office, everyone logs on to eBay. How is counter productive?
To conclude my opinion, you can learn from the British army in a way that manages many lessons and runs an organization. I have to send my article to the BBC maybe they will run the program into it, it would be interesting now.
