Epilepsy in dogs and cats is similar to that in humans. The main symptom is a type of seizure. Even a large number of attacks:
Generalized sexual attack
Generalized seizures are the most common types of seizures in dogs and cats. There are several variations of these acquisitions:
1. Absent seizures (petit mal): sudden short loss of consciousness, unusual for animals
2. Myoclonic seizures: muscle cramps in one or more muscles
3. The clonic seizure: rhythmic muscle contraction
4. Tonic seizures: increased muscle tone in all skeletal muscles
5. Tonic clonic seizures (large seizures): The most common form of pet seizures
Tonic Clonic capture
Tonic clone (grandmar) seizures account for 60% of cat seizures and 80% of dog seizures. They are usually accompanied by loss of consciousness, and when muscle tension increases, the animals stretch their legs and fall to their side, consisting of intense muscle spasm or puddling movement
In order to diagnose a real hemorrhoid, other causes of capture must be excluded first. Once a temporary diagnosis of epilepsy is made (by excluding all other known causes of seizures), animals can be prescribed anticonvulsants. These drugs are not appropriate for animals with seizures caused by problems outside the brain. The overall goal of anticonvulsive therapy is to eradicate all seizure activity, but this is rarely achieved. A more realistic goal is to reduce the frequency of seizures to levels acceptable to the owner without giving the animals negative side effects.
Since acupuncture is not treatable, the owner must be prepared to give medication for the rest of the animal's life.
