Taking care of your old dog

If your dog gets older it will be healthy, happy and lively for the time to take some preventative steps for them. If necessary, have your veterinarian examine your pet each year or more often.

Like humans, keep your dog's weight within an appropriate or optimal range. Overweight dogs have many more health problems, including joint problems, arthritis, diabetes, liver and kidney dysfunction. Reduce the amount of candy given to your pet. It is hard to resist soulful eyes, but I always remember to be for my own good. I've been thinking of a pet of kill. Give your pet a small amount once a day, or twice a day, but if left, remove the food. It's because I don't explain the children's "exhibition food of the house's pet".

As with dogs of any age, make sure that there is always fresh and cold water available. Some old dogs have problems getting in the water bowl, so you need to take water or put the water bowl in some different places and go far for drinks

If possible, take your dog for a short walk every day. This helps the dog's blood circulation, provides some new sights, has a smell that stimulates them, and he is old, but still curious, as it spends with your pet.

As your dog's age, you may need to switch from dry food to wet or canned food. His teeth may not handle the hardness of dry kibbles. Looking at your old dog and taking him to a vet will help keep your dog healthy and happy.
