It is also the task of the American Equestrian Federation to closely monitor the points earned each year by competitors at horse shows and other related events. The accumulated points actually indicate unpaid individual horses throughout the year. The USEF then rendered special awards to the winners, based on the accumulated benefits. Points are added to the end of each year. Horses are under the wing of the American Equestrian Federation and are rated with an AA, A, B, or C rating. Shows that earn an AA rating are considered to be the most prominent in the country, and those with big prizes coming in bars too. However, those shows that are rated C are those called local horse shows and, of course, a lesser amount of money is specified for the prize.
Other governing organizations that work hand-in-hand with the USEF are the American Hunter / Jumper Association or the USHJA, the American Equestrian Federation or the USDF, and the US Event Association or the USEA. Brief History of the United States Equestrian Federation
All began to boil in March when representatives from the 1917 Various Horse Show of 20 set up a meeting in New York City. Then the Board was governed by Reginald C. Vanderbilt. The Board's main goal was to unify all horse shows and to do clean competitions within the horse show ring. By May 1933, the former name of the American Horse Show Association, Inc. changed to a new one, showing the American Horse Association, Inc.
