Successful merger synergy-how to make it work

1. All companies that consider the top management of the challenge assumptions are the same. This is not true. All companies are unique, even if they are in the same business. Because the differences are subtle, they tend to be overlooked. One assumption often made if a company is struggling is that existing management is simply not good, and it is "well usually not" to solve the problem.

2. Planning Planning: Mergers and acquisitions tend to be exciting. Sometimes the thrill of the deal is clouded with proper and detailed plans. Plan every aspect from customers, suppliers, staff etc.

3. Plan for downturn. One of the hallmarks of good entrepreneurs (and I generally think of good business people) is that they tend to be optimistic. However, in high-risk situations, you should always look at your shortcomings and plan for contingencies.

4. Be flexible: We need to have a plan, but we need to be flexible and change the plan based on the new results.

5. Always learn: One of the things that makes us successful as a company is to have a learning culture. Part of our challenge in integration was blindness of what we can learn.

6. Maintain. In the face of challenges, keep trying. Persistence got us through integration. Sustained pay.

7. And finally, think long term. It is a long-term that will really be a great company.

Acquisitions tend to go through stages. The excitement and the sense of well-being of the contract will continue work to integrate the company and the usual disappointment that the results are not as expected. However, if acquisitions are well planned and really well conceived, the third phase takes place, and true performance and synergy occur.

Brits may be crazy about the weather, but they can not help talk about it on every occasion. In fact, that is probably the best topic of conversation in a British pub. Now, millions of British people across the country talk about the weather for good reasons other than when it's a nice ice breaker when talking with strangers.



Ironically, I now live in Utah (I am originally from the UK), but the weather topic is happening quite often. Something about being in a valley clearly surrounded by mountains, it is actually a fairly accurate statement. Sunlight and snow often share the same day.



So here I raised this topic. Friends and other locals from strange comments that you might want to listen to are here in Salt Lake City. They tell me that many service businesses are virtually "out of service" in winter due to lack of demand.



First of all, the proposal is ridiculed from the snow or rain stop business. There is a bunch of our northern states that may truly have winter and have some challenges in offering services to their customers properly.



Second, fortunately such things like conversations are on eBay. Literally, potential customers from all corners of the world and-weather-or virtually any other geographical or seasonal factor will be minor.



Why does everyone want to be involved in all businesses where some of their years have been swept away by something that is unpredictable like the weather? I don't know It's not like eBay is a secret place that only certain people with a certain height, color, or weight can combine. It's open to everyone, and recently everyone is listening to eBay, so they don't know about it.



I know. You can realize that you have full control over what your friends say to stop. I sympathize to some extent, but no one is forcing them to stay in their current profession. I get the feeling that some people are so addicted to being negative they don't even realize it. They don't know the other way.



In fact, it reminds the story of two families driving into a new town. The father of the first family stops at the side of the road, winds out under his window and calls out to the old gentleman, apparently local.



"We are planning to move here. Tell me what people live in this town," ask a newcomer.



"What kind of person was in the town where you lived?" Ask the old man?



"Awful, couldn't stand them up" response comes.



"The same is true," says the old man.



A few hours later a second family approaches the same old man, father says:



"We are thinking of moving here. What kind of people live here?"



Again, the old man says: "What kind of person lived in your old town?"



"They were great and really great."



"The same is true," says the old man.



The lesson should be clear. You hold your future key and your attitude may be key. Always strive to be positive, search for other good, and keep in creating your own success, no one does it for you.
